2014 10 North Yunnan

A nice multi day ride in northern Yunnan doing a loop from Lijiang to Shangrilia and back.  Day 1 Lijiang to Tiger Leaping Gorge – 170km – Indirect, broken chain, return lijiang.   Day 2 Tiger Leaping Gorge to Bai Shui Tai – 70km. Large climb, landside, trek downhill with bikes.    Day 3 Bai Shui Tai to Shangrilia – 120km. Tiring high altitude cycling   Day 4 Rest and walks. Vist around the site in the morning and then afternoon to the cable car with a 10km run downhill. I’m taking my HKU students on a plant / conservation trip to North Yunnan in October and need to get some cycling training in as well. 4 to 5 days of early morning cycling. Its at altitude so not easy. Google Earth File: 2014YunnanGE.kml Blue = cycling day 1 – Lijiang to Tiger Leaping Gorge Orange = cycling day 2 and maybe 3 – TLG to Shangri-La.
